Sunday night = Jack Benny, so here's "Jack buys Don's Christmas present" (12-8-46). Mel Blanc is the slowly-driven-insane sales clerk; the great Frank Nelson is the surly floorwalker. This is a good one (but I'll say that every time).
(I looked up the coal strike of 1946 but still can't figure out what the "fine" reference means.)
