Thursday Night at the Radio!

Anybody who likes their dialogue hard-boiled is going to love Pat Novak: For Hire. This is Jack Webb years before he created Dragnet, and he's like the mutant child of Raymond Chandler and the Marx Brothers. Novak and Hellmann, his cop arch-enemy, are standing over a body:

Hellmann: You know how I feel--

Novak: Yeah, you feel flabby to anybody else, but to yourself I suppose you feel good.

This is the first show, "Dixie Gillian" (11-24-46).

Update: Great commercials, too. Slippers for the little nipper!
