The Family" used "patience and precision" in setting fires that burned several buildings on top of Vail Mountain back in 1998:
First, Rodgers placed the gas cans beside eight structures - five in one spot, three in another area more than a mile away, court documents state. Then he went back and lit each container by hand. . . .
At one point, he noticed heat coming from a building. When he opened a door and discovered two hunters sleeping inside, he opted not to set that building on fire, he said.
